The permission for lifts is regulated under the Haryana Lifts And Escalators Rules 2009. There are separate requirements for Registration for working a lift and renewal of license every year.
Every owner who has erected a lift, shall within a period of one month on completion of the erection of a lift shall make an application for registration. The notice of completion of the erection of lift and the application for registration shall be submitted in Form A alongwith the following documents:
(a) A work completion report of the erection of lift in Form B as obtained either from the manufacturer of lifts or a Company of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, as the case may be.
(b) A completion report in Form C of the licensed electrical contractor.
(c) A challan for a fee of Rs. 2,500/- (Two thousand five hundred rupees only) for each lift towards the registration remitted into a Government Treasury.
(d) Copy of the third party insurance policy taken by the owner of the lift, covering insurance for the persons using such lift.
(e) Copy of the annual lift maintenance contract with any lift maintenance company for the smooth and safe running of the lift.
(f) Copy of the annual safety certificate.
On receipt of an application , the inspection of the lift takes place by the department within fifteen days and on getting satisfied that all the requirements of the Act and rules are complied with. The registration in Form D is issued from the date of receipt of compliance report or of rectification of defects, if any.
